When you look at all we do with the animals while they are in our care,

you will see that our Adoptions are a great value!

Dogs: Adoption fees start at $174+tax (and any additional donation you care to make) includes the following:

(Please note: puppies, purebreds and small dogs will usually have higher fees. Some dogs may be discounted due to age or other factors.)

Spay or Neuter

Heartworm test (if appropriate), started on HW preventative. We are also testing for Ehrlichia and Lymes Disease (both are carried by ticks).

All dogs are examined for external parasites and treated with a monthly preventative.

First DHLP, Bordatella and Rabies Vaccinations

Deworming

Microchip with Free Registration

Please note: We can not always accomodate drop-ins to look at the dogs. Please try to get your Adoption Request Profile to us before coming to look. This way, we can help determine which will be the best match for you, your family, and your lifestyle with the least amount of stress for everyone concerned. If we don't currently have any dogs that would make a good addition to your family, we can keep these Profiles on file and call you if one comes in that's a good candidate!

Qualified Senior Citizens are eligible for a $50 discount off adoption fees (this is subsidized by Purina). Please ask at the Adoption Center for details.

Cats: Adoption Fee of $89+tax for adult cats and $99+tax for kittens (and any additional donation you care to make) includes the following:

If you pick out two compatible adult cats, we have a Two for $139 adoption fee. Kittens are two for $149. This is a great idea, especially with kittens- they can keep each other busy!

If you are a resident of the city of Waupaca, there is an additional fee for a rabies vaccine and a city cat license, which will be issued upon adoption.

Humane Society staff and volunteers who work with the animals have gotten to know them during their stay with us and can give you information about their personalities and habits. We will assist you in selecting an animal who will fit into your family.

We can provide you with a wealth of information on caring for your new pet. Just ask! That's what we're here for!

We do recommend that you have your new pet and his/her health record examined by a veterinarian of your choice as soon as possible.

**NEW** If you're having trouble finding that certain animal companion that you desire, we recommend you Pre-submit an Adoption Request Profile, and we will contact you if an animal similar to what you're looking for becomes available for adoption. Also, we recommend that you try Petfinder.com - a wonderful internet resource. For those of you without internet access, feel free to stop by the Adoption Center during our regular business hours and we will show you how to use Petfinder.com on one of our computers.
